McFarlane Toys DC Comics Display // NYTF2020
One of the most exciting developments from last year’s Toy Fair was the announcement that McFarlane Toys obtained the DC Comics’ license and would be developing their own line of figures. Utilizing their 22 points of articulation scheme, McFarlane Toys unveiled several 1/12 scaled figures all under the brand umbrella of DC Multiverse.
First up are the currently released figures, including multiple toys of Batman-inspired by the styles of Bruce Timm and Jim Lee. Also available are figures based on the Rebirth continuity of comics including Nightwing, Batgirl, and the increasingly popular Batman Who Laughs. The Rebirth figures also include pieces that can assemble a replica of the Batmobile based on its DC Rebirth design. The Batman figures retail for $19.99 each, while the Rebirth figures retail for $24.99.
In terms of new releases, McFarlane let it be known that we have no shortage of Batman goodness coming! Comic figures based on the designs of Sean Gordon Murphy’s “White Knight” continuity are also underway including Joker, Azrael, and Batman himself. Figures based on the popular Arkham series of video games are also underway, with figures of Batman and Joker’s game designs also on display. Both the White Knight figures and the Arkham figures will retail for $19.99.
Finally, for a bit of variety, McFarlane revealed figures based on the hotly anticipated summer blockbuster Wonder Woman 1984. The figures include her traditional appearance, as well as her gold armor inspired by artist Alex Ross.
DC Multiverse is available at online retailers like Big Bad Toy Store and Entertainment Earth, or classic brick and mortar retailers like Target and GameStop.
