Super 7 7-Inch Figure Display // NYTF2019

The company Super 7 has stood out from its competitors in the toy scene by creating fun, niche product based on in-demand properties. The company creates retro-based products like their Kenner inspired ReAction line or their assortment of MUSCLE mini-figures based on the tiny similarly named rubber toys from the 80s. As much as Super 7 enjoys making product that is distinct from other companies, they do also make figures that fall into modern collector standards as well first inheriting the Masters of the Universe Classics assortment from Mattel, and now expanding that 7-inch figure style to their other licenses new and old.

First up is Toxie, the main character from the violent Toxic Avenger film series, sporting a design based on the family-friendly Toxic Crusaders cartoon and toyline. The figure captures the gross visage of the Toxic hero very well and comes with an assortment of accessories inspired by the ones from the vintage Toxie figure.

The rest of Super 7's figure announcements in this scale all come from licenses Super 7 announced as joining their stable at New York Toy Fair 2019, including the cosmic super robot Voltron. Super 7's Voltron figure is a non-transformable fully articulated interpretation of the Legendary Defender that is reminiscent of Mattel's Blazing Sword SDCC exclusive from 2011.

On the surreal side of Super 7's announcements was the reveal of figures based on the Ren and Stimpy animated series. Ren and Stimpy have stylized sculpts emulating the art of the show, feature alternate headsculpts, and include accessories such as Stimpy's litter box and a couple of rubber nipples.

By far, the license and figure fans are most enthusiastic about is the announcement of a MOTUC style figure of Conan the Barbarian. He-Man and Conan are compared to each other for both being swordsmen fighting mystic evils. Conan and He-Man even share fans who are attracted to both because of such genre similarity.

The Conan figure is currently up for pre-order, with the other figures to go on sale later this year. All of Super 7's figures are made to order and available exclusively through the Super 7 website. They will retail for $35 plus shipping and handling, and all receive the same beautiful sculpt work provided by Four Horsemen Toy Designs. Super 7 has expressed interest in doing more MOTUC style figures in the 7-inch scale, and are willing to explore other characters and properties based on how these new figures are received.
