Best of the Decade: Introduction // Best of the Year

This month marks the end of the twenty-tens and with it, the ushering in of a shiny new decade. In celebration, the staff behind You Don't Read Comics has brewed up something special. We came together and curated a list of what we considered to be the BEST comics had to offer between the years of 2009-2019, along with a hefty list of still spectacular Honorable Mentions. 

For the record, we consider every single honorable mention to be a superb work worth as much praise and recognition as their year's incumbent title. Determining the winner was based on the criteria we made that allowed us to narrow down the list of incredible titles. 

Criteria included: One winning entry per creator (with a maximum of one additional honorable mention). One run or title of a character maximum in either category (for example one Batman title as either a winning entry or honorable mention regardless of the creative team). Does this entry have a quality that puts it above the other titles? And was this year's entry the best or most iconic version of that title?
