Infinity War recommended reading
Infinity War is a week away so it’s no better time to catch up on some Thanos reading. We compiled a small list of some must read book that either influence the movie or feature Thanos himself, with a brief summary of each as well.
Infinity Gauntlet
The most important book on this list and also the one that probably directly inspires the upcoming film the most. This story starts with Thanos having the infinity stones and to impress Death wipes out half of existence with the snap of his fingers. Adam Warlock and Doctor Strange assemble a team to do the seemingly impossible and try to stop Thanos and bring all those lives back.
Infinity War
Contrary to sharing the title with the upcoming film this comic will probably have the least influence on the movie itself. In Infinity War an evil version of Adam Warlock gets the gauntlet and infinity gems so Earths mightiest heroes must team up with Thanos to stop him in this direct sequel to Infinity Gauntlet
Infinity
The second most influential book for Avengers infinity war would have to go to Infinity by Jonathan Hickman. The biggest draw from Infinity is Thanos’ henchmen The Black Order and secondly the size of the actual Avengers team actually doing battle against Thanos himself.
Thanos Rising
Jason Aaron was tasked with creating a origin for Thanos that had to satisfy long time fans and seemed to have done a good job. This story starts at his birth and follows him into adulthood and most importantly show how his obsession with Death began.
Thanos wins
The newest series on this list and also probably the most bat shit insane as well. Future Thanos has eliminated almost all life on Earth but one so he bring his present day self to the future to help him so they can finally please Mistress Death. After that one is destroyed they realize Death is still not pleased because their is one more to destroy. This book oozes fun and is a must read for any marvel cosmic fan.
Thanos Imperative
This series is so good because you get to see Thanos team up with The Guardians of the Galaxy and other cosmic heroes in the cancer verse. You get to see shades of grey within Thanos and this series has some great twists and turns within it and is def a must read.
