Jim Starlins new Thanos book sounds very familiar.
Thanos creator Jim Starlin and artist Alan Davis will return to the saga of the Mad Titan for The Infinity Conflict, an OGN that pits Thanos against a future version of himself.
Sounds alot like the plot of the current Thanos ongoing series, and Starlin thought so too, publicly stating in December 2017 that he was cutting ties with the publisher when the dispute could not be resolved.
The Infinity Conflict is the second part of a planned trilogy, with the first being The Infinity Siblings due out in just a couple of weeks. It's unclear if the third part of the trilogy will be created, or has already been finished for publication, or if creators other than Starlin and Davis would create it in their absence.
Here's how Marvel describes the story: "Infinity Conflict takes the Mad Titan on an epic, wild adventure – and brings Adam Warlock along for the ride! Armed with the Reality Gem, Thanos is now poised to become the lord of all reality, until he learns that his troublesome brother and time travel aren’t the only things that stand in the way of claiming his powerful reign.
"Who stands against Thanos in this dramatic rebellion? The answer may surprise you…"
